How to Make a Bleached Game of Thrones Shirt
Yoga pants + big t-shirts are my fave. And I can’t wait to wear my Bleached Game of Thrones Shirt with my favorite yoga pants for Sunday’s premiere!
Game of Thrones BABY! The next eight weeks will be the most stressful of the entire year, and I AM PUMPED. Usually Sunday’s aren’t my favorite but when Game of Thrones is back it’s easily my favorite day of the week. They say that this season will be much different than what we’re used to and I really hope that means a fast-paced season where all hell breaks loose. Because I’m ready to see more people die and for Dany to screw everything up.

From the beginning I’ve rooted for the Starks. I have a thing for the underdogs and that poor family seems to get the worst of everything all the time. Now that Sansa and Jon are reunited, Bran is just North of the wall, and Arya is making her way North I’m hoping for a big reunion this season. I kind of feel like they deserve it.
And while I have all the happy thoughts for my favorite family I’m also kind of excited to see what Cersei does on the Iron Throne. That look Jamie gave her at the end of last season was all kinds of sinister and I have a feeling their relationship is going to take a huge nose dive now that all of their children are dead. Also….can we hate on the Sand Snakes for a minute? I hope Cersei goes after them (burn them all!) and takes them all down just so we don’t have to see them on screen again. They are the worst. And their acting is terrible too (just sayin’).
So for the time being, I’m a little bit #TeamCersei.
Only until the Sand Snakes are gone though. Then I’m back to #TeamStark/Targaryan all the way.
So tonight I’m throwing on my most comfortable yoga pants and my oversized bleached Game of Thrones shirt for the premiere. And I may settle in with a big batch of these Honey Cakes and a glass of wine on top of it too.
You can make your own bleached Game of Thrones shirt for the premiere too! It’s easy!
Materials
- Blank t-shirt (I bought mine at Target)
- Bleach
- Water
- Spray Bottle
- Freezer Paper
- Silhouette Cameo
- Iron
Step-by-step instructions to make your own bleached Game of Thrones shirt
+ Cut out your design (mine is from the Facebook group ONE SILHOUETTE TO RULE THEM ALL) with the shiny side of the freezer paper up (this is the only way it would cut for me). Don’t forget to flip your design before cutting it!
PRO TIP: Your silhouette settings should read… BLADE: 1, SPEED: 3, THICKNESS: 2, DOUBLE CUT.
+ While your Silhouette is cutting out the design, fold your t-shirt in half (length-wise) and iron down the crease. This will help you place your design in the middle!
+ Place your design on your t-shirt shiny side down (I like to place mine about 1.5 inches down from the collar) and use your iron to press the freezer to paper to the shirt. Once it’s all sticking to the shirt you’re ready to use bleach!
+ Mix 1 part water and 1 part bleach in a spray bottle and mix it up. Then lightly spray your t-shirt with the mixture. DO NOT overspray and soak your shirt!
PRO TIP: Place extra freezer paper inside the shirt to keep the bleach from bleeding through. You could also use cardboard for this.
+ Set the shirt aside and let it dry. I let mine sit overnight just because I got busy and forgot about it (mom life, haha). It would probably be fine about half an hour or so.
Y’all, this project is SO EASY. It took me all of 10 minutes to do, the longest part was waiting for the Silhouette to cut the paper. I may have oversprayed a bit on some of the design but even with that I think the shirt looks really cool! Honestly, freezer paper shirts may be my new favorite thing. They’re fun, easy, and unique. No two shirts would ever look the same.
And now I can throw on my yoga pants, grab some dessert and wine, and settle in to watch the show. Right after I get my kid to go to sleep. Because you know, priorities. ?
Do you think I should add a quote to the back or keep the bleached Game of Thrones shirt as it is?
