Craft a Card Thursday: A Harry Potter Love Story
Everyone in my life knows that I am obsessed with Harry Potter. I have been since Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone hit book shelves in 1997. Those books got me through a lot in High School and I don’t know how I would’ve made it through without them. Now-a-days you can find me reading them for pleasure…over and over again. I’ve also been able to pass my love of all most things Harry Potter onto my husband, which is great! I just need to figure out how to get him to read the books.
One of my favorite story lines in the books was Snape’s. I can honestly tell you that I hated him in the first book. Anyone who read the books in the years before they started making the movies will probably tell you the same thing. But as the books progressed I started to warm up to him a bit, there was just something about ol’ Severus Snape that was intriguing and I couldn’t wait to find out more of his back story.
I was going through a lot of emotions when book seven finally hit shelves in July of 2007. On one hand I wanted to read it because I wanted to find out the end story, but on the other hand I didn’t want the books that had been such a huge part of my adolescence to be over. I read The Deathly Hallows multiple times the first week of its release, and still couldn’t get over Snape’s storyline. It was all anyone could talk about. Snape was obsessed with Lily. He loved her. And he had loved her ever since he’d known her. It was a great way to close Snape’s story, and to this day it is still my favorite part of the book.
So that is why, I wanted to honor it for my craft a card series.
For this card I wrote out an excerpt from the Deathly Hallows chapter, ‘The Prince’s Tale’. My favorite part of the book, (besides the part where Ron and Hermione finally kiss!!!), is when Snape tells Dumbledore his feelings for Lily Potter.
For this Photoshop card I used:
This card would be so cute for a special someone or the Harry Potter fan in your life!
