Allergy-Friendly Treats at Epcot’s Flower & Garden Festival
You must try these six delicious allergy-friendly treats at Epcot’s Flower & Garden Festival!
There are two things I love doing at Disney: taking pictures and eating the food. While most of the year I get by on churros and cream cheese filled pretzels (which are discontinued by the way…boo), during the Spring I gorge myself on all the delicious treats at the Flower & Garden festival!
Because I have a severe allergy to all nuts and nut products I have to be very careful about what I eat. Luckily Disney is easy to work with when it comes to my allergies and I am able to eat my weight in food while we’re there. It’s amazing! And I had some of my favorite foods at Epcot on this last visit, and I want to share the allergy-friendly treats at Epcot you MUST try if you’re headed there this month!
I’m so sad that this years festival is almost over, and there is a pretty good chance that we won’t make it back before it closes. I’ve been dreaming of the food ever since we got back and Chris and I have plans to recreate some of what we tasted. Though, neither of us are stellar cooks so that may prove to be a bit difficult. I’ll let y’all know the outcome though!

So, are you ready to find out which allergy-friendly treats at Epcot you must try if you visit the Flower & Garden Festival this year?
Watermelon Salad
Location: Urban Farm Eats
Y’all, this watermelon salad was the most refreshing thing I tasted all day! With balsamic vinegar and feta cheese on top it was perfect combination of acid and sweetness. I was a huge, huge fan of this salad! Bonus is that it’ll be so easy to recreate at home.
Tacos de Camarón (shrimp) & Watermelon Sangria
Location: Jardin de Fiestas
I can’t even begin to tell you how many times I went back for these tacos. They were delicious. I still wake up craving them because they were that good. A little bit of spice and a whole lot of breaded goodness on those shrimp paired with the sangria was a match made in heaven. Seriously….if someone can find the recipe for this dish I’ll be forever grateful.
Oh, and Chris was the one who tried the flan. He said it was good, but with my allergies I didn’t risk it. Though, the presentation was adorable!
Watermelon-Cucumber Slush
Location: Florida Fresh
I’m a huge fan of watermelon so I was really excited about this slush! Last year they had a watermelon-pomegranate slush that was my absolute favorite (it became a serious pregnancy craving) but it wasn’t there this year so I went for this drink instead. It was definitely nice and refreshing and a great drink to sip on since it was so hot! I mean, I definitely missed last years version, but the cucumber was an interesting pair to the watermelon.
Pollo alla Parmigiana (breaded chicken), Mezze Lune Primavera (egg pasta), & Frozen Italian Primavera
Location: Primavera Kitchen
This was another stand I went back to multiple times. The frozen drink didn’t even taste like it had any alcohol in it (it was so sweet!) and that egg pasta was my absolute favorite! Italian food is my go-to so I’m always a huge fan of the food stands they have at any special event. Not only is their food really great but the drinks are just as good! Chris was the one who ate the breaded chicken, and he really liked that dish as well. All around, Italy was the big winner in terms of all around great treats. We were huge fans!
Peach Sparkling Wine
Location: Urban Farm Eats
We got the wine with the watermelon salad (mentioned above) and Chris and I devoured the drink. The peach flavor was incredibly subtle and added just enough sweetness to the overall taste. This was a drink I wish we had gone back to get a second and third time, but we never did.
Beef Brisket Burnt Ends Hash & Frozen Lemonade with Firefly Blackberry Moonshine
Location: The Smokehouse: Barbecue and Brews
So, Chris was a huge fan of the brisket. Huge fan. I’m not a beef fan like he is but I have to say that even I thought it was delicious! But (for me) the real star of the show was the lemonade. HOLY.COW. So good. I think I kind of took it from Chris and kept it all to myself. Which was okay, because he pretty much did the same thing with the beef. If I can find a recipe for both of these things, I see a lot of yummy backyard barbecues in our future!
So, those are my top six (plus a few) allergy-friendly treats at Epcot’s Flower & Garden Festival that you must try! They were all so good and I wish I could go back and get them all again!
Have you been to Epcot’s Flower & Garden Festival this year? What was your favorite dish?
**Please be advised that even though I have a severe allergy and ate all of this food, you should always ask a cast member if it is safe to eat with your own dietary restrictions! Let any and all cast members know about your specific allergy before eating anything at Disney World. It is better to be safe than wish you had taken the few minutes to talk to the chef!**
