Guardian of the Rings Wedding SVG

Use this guardian of the rings wedding svg for the little ring bearer in your wedding party! Fill it with snacks, coloring pages and other small toys that will keep them occupied and happy during the ceremony!

My brother-in-law and sister-in-law are finally getting to throw their big wedding party this December, and we’re very excited my six year old gets to be the ring bearer!

My mother-in-law wants to make sure both the flower girl and ring bearer have something to do during the ceremony (like eating snacks or coloring) so that they don’t get bored.

So I decided to make little bags to put all of their fun treats in! And today I’m sharing my ring bearer bag….guardian of the rings wedding svg!

My brother-in-law and sister-in-law are having a galaxy themed wedding and sent out these beautiful blue and purple wedding invitations. I thought it would be really cool to incorporate their colors into this project, which I did with paint splatters!

I didn’t want to do too much with the paint and have it distract from the vinyl design so I tried to do it pretty sparingly. But, the paint got away from me a bit and I got a little too splatter happy with the paint.

I suggest if it’s your first time doing the paint splatter technique that you try it out on a spare piece of fabric to make sure you get the technique down first. It’s not hard, but the first time I had the brush too close to my fabric and left long streaks of paint where my brush touched.

You do not have to wait too long for the paint to dry and you also don’t have to worry about using a heat press on the paint.

I waited about two hours to make sure the paint was fully dry and then used my heat press on the bag.

The one thing you do need to worry about when pressing the bag is the seams, using pressing pillows will help you get an even press on your bag.

Tips for using this Guardian of the Rings wedding SVG on a paint splattered tote bag!

How do you thin out the paint enough to make it splatter on your tote bag?

There is a trick to this and it’s one of the main reasons I suggest practicing with an old t-shirt or a cleaning rag before you try it on your final project.

You do not need a lot of water to thin out your paint but you will need some.

I just dipped my paintbrush in the paint I was using and then dipped it in water. It was enough to thin out the paint and let it splatter on the tote bag.

What type of paintbrushes do you need for paint splatters?

It really depends on how big you want your splatters.

Since my bag is smaller I used a small paintbrush to get smaller splatters but if you want bigger drops of paint you’ll want to use a larger paint brush.

Getting a set of brushes like this one on Amazon gives you a ton of options when it comes to the size of your splatters!

What type of paint works best on a tote bag?

You need to use fabric paint on a tote bag.

Any time you’re using paint on fabric you need to specifically use fabric paint. You can find fabric paint at any craft store, like Hobby Lobby, Michaels, JoAnn’s.

How long do you let the paint dry before putting a vinyl decal on top of it?

You can look on the back of your paint container to see what the recommended dry time is – mine was 4 hours.

But because I was using very little paint I didn’t think it would take that long to dry. I started checking after an hour and probably could’ve used my heat press on the bag at that time.

I ended up waiting two hours just to be safe. My paint was dry and I had no problems using my heat press on it after that amount of time.

Just keep checking your bag to see if the paint is dry before pressing!

FAQ’S for this Guardian of the Rings Wedding SVG Project

Why will you need pressing pillows for this project?

Pressing pillows are made to help you get an even press with your heat press. They allow thick seams (like on this tote bag), zippers, collars and more to be absorbed into the pillow so that you can get an even press on your vinyl with your heat press.

It’s best to have multiple sizes of pressing pillows so that you can use them in all sorts of situations.

I have these from Heat Press Nation and they work really well with all of my projects!

If you don’t have an even press on your vinyl you will find that your vinyl will start to lift off of your material because the glue didn’t properly adhere to your material.

If your vinyl starts to lift after a while you can use vinyl remover to get it off your material and press a new design — like I did here!

I turned the bag upside down when pressing so that the handles weren’t caught in the heat press. They probably would’ve been fine but I wasn’t 100% sure how they’d hold up to heat and I didn’t want to burn them.
